How does the solar panel installation process work

The installation process with Sunhero usually takes between 1 and 3 days, depending on the size of the photovoltaic system to be installed.

If we talk about installation, we can divide the process into two main parts. On the roof installation and the electrical one.

Roof installation:

First of all, we must measure the roof and drill the relevant holes to insert the screws that will serve as anchors for the aluminium structures. We seal with a chemical block and waterproofing paint.

Once the aluminium structures are fixed, we place and fit the panels to the structure.

Electrical installation:

Solar panels generate direct electrical current through solar radiation while at home, we make use of alternating current with devices and appliances. To carry out this transformation between direct current and alternating current, we need the inverter, the key part of any photovoltaic installation.

The inverter should be installed as close as possible to the main electrical panel of the house. If we place the inverter close to the main electrical panel, we will be optimising solar production and reducing wiring losses. It is also important to have a good internet connection, as the inverter will be constantly transmitting production data and sending it to the application that we will have on our mobile.

Once the inverter installation process has been completed, we will proceed to connect it to the home’s main switchboard. In this way, we will be able to take advantage of all the solar energy generated for the consumption of our home. From this moment on, you will be generating your own energy at home and saving on your electricity bill!

Everything you need to know about installing solar panels

Solar panels or photovoltaic modules are devices that convert solar energy into electricity through the photovoltaic effect. They are composed of individual cells made of semiconductor materials such as silicon, which releases electrons when exposed to electromagnetic radiation, such as sunlight. In this way, they absorb sunlight and transform it into direct electrical current, which is then collected through the cables connected to the cells and transported to the inverter, the device responsible for converting it into alternating current, which we use at home.

If you want to install solar panels at home, there are some prerequisites that are necessary to do so. Design of the photovoltaic system For a self-consumption photovoltaic installation of less than 10kW, it is necessary to have a technical report. For a larger installation, a project must be submitted. Access and grid connection permits In the case of photovoltaic installations outside urban land, grid access and grid connection permits must be applied for. This documentation is also required for installations of more than 15kW. Building permit and taxes Before carrying out any installation, a building permit, a responsible declaration or a prior communication must be submitted, depending on the municipality in which the project is to be carried out. In this same step, the ICIO (Construction, Installations and Works Tax) and the rate for the provision of urban development services must be paid.
